About EAF

Aim

  • To provide the participants the opportunity to discuss, exchange and present in an informal setting, on a regular and sustained basis ideas on the relations between Europe and the Arab World.
  • Scenarios for EuroArab relations will be developed and analysed to see for example what EuroArab alternatives exist to the “Clash of Civilization”, the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict or Islamophobia.
  • The forum will create outputs in the form of new innovative and inventive ideas, policy recommendations and strategies.
Background
  • The people involved in the EAF assume that Brussels lacks a regular exchange forum on relations between Europe and the Arab World to bring forward new innovative and inventive ideas and to intellectually analyse them.
  • The current state in this important field is mostly one of a repetition of the same ideas and approaches without providing a space for the development of new ideas and approaches. This stagnation should be overcome by fresh ideas and new perspectives.

Target group

  • Professionals from diverse backgrounds dealing with the relations between Europe and the Arab World. The target group comprises pro-active and engaged Europeans and Arabs who are open to new ideas and who have a professional or private interest in the topic. We are looking for visionaries and pioneers who are committed to make a difference to EuroArab relations.

The EuroArab Forum Series is organised by the core team members of the EuroArab Forum and is open to the above mentioned target group. The EuroArab Forum provides an open, off-the-record discussion forum which features guest speakers on a variety of topics.

Approach to the EuroArab Forum sessions

  • Introduction to the topic by one of the core team members of the EuroArab Forum (5minutes)
  • Thematic introduction by a speaker (20-30 minutes)
  • Questions & Answers and discussion (30-45 minutes)
  • Closing reflections by Moderator
